Summer is here! Well nearly. If your calendar is already booked up for June and July don’t fear as we have found some great events for you and your family to enjoy in August and September.

Notting Hill Carnival (Aug 30th) Before the mayhem and hard partying of Monday, Notting hill Carnival offers a ‘Family Day’ on Sunday. Sunday offers a more kiddy friendly atmosphere and acts as a great opener for Monday. Early risers who get to Ladbroke Grove between 6 and 9am can enjoy the Jouvert procession colourful paint is thrown to a steel band soundtrack, this traditional Caribbean event will delight young and old. There’s a colourful parade for children to take part in between 10am and 8.30pm as well as sounds from the World Music Stage which hosts an eclectic soundtrack.

The Faversham Hop Festival (3rd 4th Sep)  The Faversham Hop Festival is a free family festival now in its 26th year which is held on the first weekend of September (the 3rd and 4th this year). It commemorates “the golden days of hop-picking, when families would visit Kent and pass the evening with music and stories. The festival takes place in its name sake Faversham and includes live music, street theatre and Morris Dancing.

Go-ride for the bike fanatics in your family. Go-ride offers to teach 6-16 year olds skills in mountain biking. Sponsored by Sky the initiative runs all around the country from Surrey to Yorkshire from around £10 a day.
